The village of Bykovo was founded in 1863 and was initially called Klyuchevskoye. The blessing for its foundation and the construction of a wooden church was given on March 7, 1863, by the Vyatka bishop Agafangel Solovyov. The parish was opened by the decree of the Spiritual Consistory on June 22, 1863. Initially, a prayer house operated in the village, where the first church services were held. The main advocate before the diocese was I. E. Posazhenikov from the village of Vylom. While disputes were ongoing between the residents of Vylom and Klyuchevskoye about the location for the church, the icon of the Kazan Mother of God hung at the border between the settlements.

A wooden church with a bell tower was built in 1866 and consecrated in the name of the Archangel Michael, receiving the name Archangel's. In 1900, it was sold to the parishioners of the villages of Arbazh and Sorvizhi for a new parish in the Bogomolovsky settlement. The construction of the stone church began in 1887. Funds were collected throughout the parish, but they were insufficient. Help came from K. M. Paderin, a native of the Klyuchevskoye parish, who donated 5,150 rubles. In 1891, the construction was completed, and the church was consecrated as the Kazan Mother of God Church.

The church consists of a main volume with a five-sided apse and a refectory. The cold temple is designed as an octagon with a dome and a bulbous structure, which have been preserved on the roof of the altar space. The temple is well-lit due to the numerous windows in the refectory and apse. The facade is decorated with a blue ornament, and on the eastern side, there is an image of the Kazan Mother of God. The small size of the church created a cozy and warm atmosphere, thanks to the stove in the basement, from which warm air flowed into the room. The entrances to the church were from the western and southern sides. The bell tower had one bell.

To the south of the church was a cemetery for clergy.

Simultaneously with the church, a wooden school was built. In 1882, there were 775 men and 888 women living in the Klyuchevskoye parish. In 1885, the parish included 14 settlements with 277 households, where 830 men and 903 women lived. In 1914, the parish had 285 households with 1,035 men and 1,097 women. The zemstvo school, built in December 1913, accommodated 104 boys and 38 girls. The village held three major fairs: the winter Vasilyevskaya, the summer Vasilyevskaya, and the Mikhailovskaya patronal feast. The day of the church's founder was celebrated on the day of Constantine. The last service in the church took place on December 7, 1929.

The closure of the church was accompanied by the destruction of its property.
