Before the revolution, there were two churches in Bogdanovka. The first, a wooden one, was built in 1774, but later it was dismantled and sold to the village of Novaya Binaradka. In its place, a chapel with family crypts of the Bogdanov, Putilov, and Charykov families was constructed.

Ekaterina Charykova, fulfilling her deceased brother's will, initiated the construction of a new stone church designed by academician Korinfsky in the style of Alexandrian Empire. The church was consecrated in 1828 in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. After a fire in 1858, it was restored and an altar was added in honor of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr.

Despite the church's beauty, it was destroyed in the 1930s, along with the chapel and family crypts. Now, buildings occupy the site of the church. The villagers accidentally discovered gravestones from the Charykov crypt during garden excavations, which are now kept on the grounds of the modern church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

For the new church, a building of the former village bathhouse was allocated, which was renovated by local residents. The first service in this church took place in 2004. In 2011, a Sunday school was built next to the church.

The church houses the icon of the Mother of God "Quick to Hear," painted on Mount Athos and belonging to Abbess Rakhil from the Buguruslan Monastery. The abbess died a martyr's death when she and her sisters were sent into exile on a barge, which sank. The icon was preserved and transferred to the church in the village of Bogdanovka. The church was also gifted unique holy relics of the Diveyevo sisters.
