The Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was built around 1911. Its construction was financed by a local native, a Petersburg merchant and honorary hereditary citizen Ivan Petrovich Shalin. The project was developed by Synodal architect N. Nikонов. To the north of the church lies the foundation of the Nikolsky church, which was dismantled in the 1930s. The village has long been known as Ovtsevovo.
