The village of Alferyevo, also known as Bogorodskoye, is located in the Sechenovsky District. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, the village church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. This temple dates back to the 18th century, specifically 1760. However, the order was annulled on October 20, 2014, according to a new directive. According to local historian Vladimir Bakunin, the church was built by landowner Andrey Ivanovich Kikhin, the father of General Pyotr Andreyevich Kikhin, who was a hero of the Patriotic War and proposed the idea of building the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

In 1892, the church in Alferyevo was surrounded by a wooden fence. The church has two altars: the main one is dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the side altar is dedicated to Saint Dimitri of Rostov, the Miracle Worker. In the second half of the 19th century, the village was owned by Pyotr Yevgrafovich Kikhin, the nephew of Pyotr Andreyevich Kikhin. Pyotr Andreyevich's mother, Maria Fyodorovna, was the sister of Nil Fyodorovich Yermolov, the great-great-grandfather of academic shipbuilder A.N. Krylov, and Alexander Fyodorovich Yermolov, the grandfather of the Yazykov brothers and Kitty Khomyakova.
