Previously, the village was part of the Murom district of Vladimir province. The first mentions of the church in Alexandrov appear in the revenue books of 1676, where it is referred to as the Nikolskaya. It is unclear whether it was made of stone or wood. Interestingly, by 1676, the temple was already named after the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, with an altar in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It is possible that a stone church was built to replace the dilapidated building. This large two-domed church had thick walls made of solid brick, and the windows let in little light. One dome was located above the church, while the other was above the altar added on the northern side. The church was renovated in 1790, and in 1810, a bell tower was added to it. A church parish school operated at the church.
