The church is located on the territory of a general regime colony and has nearly a 20-year history. In the summer of 1994, a site was chosen for its construction, and in the autumn of the same year, Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal laid the first stone, and the foundation was begun. Three years later, the church was completed. On July 13, 1997, Bishop Evlogy consecrated the church in honor of the righteous John of Kronstadt and conducted the first Liturgy.
The church building is small but harmoniously fits into the space bounded by walls. The height of the church is 14 meters. During the consecration, Archbishop Evlogy presented an icon of the righteous John of Kronstadt, which was a gift from Archimandrite John Krystiankin. In 2006, a narthex was added to the church, and a fence was built. In 2009, bells were donated, and construction of the bell tower is currently underway.
