In the summer of 1991, Archbishop German of Volgograd and Kamyshin consecrated the foundation stone for the construction of the Church of the Holy Apostle John the Theologian.

In 1995, a pit was dug and a capsule was laid under the altar. On Christmas 1998, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the under-construction lower church, dedicated to the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos.

On December 28, 2000, Father Konstantin Motov became the rector of the parish.

On Easter 2005, the first Divine Liturgy took place in the upper church.

In the summer of 2005, the church acquired its completed architectural appearance. In May, the central dome was installed, and in November, four small domes.
