The village of Filippovskoye is located 18 versts from the district town and 120 versts from the provincial center. In the early 17th century, there was already a church in the village, but by 1628 it had fallen into disrepair. The land books from 1628 and 1629 mention that on the site of the former church, dedicated to Joachim and Anna, there remained an empty church site. Only after 74 years, in 1702, did the parishioners build a new church on this site, also in honor of the Holy Parents Joachim and Anna.

This wooden church stood for over a hundred years, but it burned down in 1808. In 1809, the parishioners erected a stone temple in its place. The temple has two altars: a cold one, in honor of the righteous Holy Parents Joachim and Anna, and a warm chapel, in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. All church documents are preserved: copies of the metric books since 1809 and confession rolls since 1822. According to the staff, the church has a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance is provided by an income of 500 rubles a year: 200 rubles from arable and haymaking land and 300 rubles from services and needs. The priest lives in a communal house, while the psalmist lives in his own.

The church lands include 2 dessiatinas 1250 square fathoms of homestead land and 31 dessiatinas of arable and haymaking land. Plans and boundary books for the land are missing, as they burned in 1808. The peasants promised to cultivate the land for free, but they do not fulfill their obligations, so the land is leased. The parish includes the village of Filippovskoye and the village of Plecheva, where according to the clerical records there are 315 men and 366 women, all Orthodox.
