In 1921, as a result of changes in administrative-territorial division, the Malopurginskaya, Bolshennoryinskaya, and Buranovskaya volosts, previously part of the Sarapul district of the Vyatka province, were included in the Izhyev district. The Ilyinskaya volost became part of the Yelabuga district.

The Malopurginsky district with its center in the village of Malaya Purga was established by the decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee on July 15, 1929, based on the Buranovskaya, Bolshaya-Kibyin, and Soviet volosts. The district included 12 rural councils: Aksakshursky, Bobya-Uchinsky, Bolshennoryinsky, Gozhninsky, Ilyinsky, Kechursky, Malopurginsky, Nizhneuyrinsky, Puro-Mozhgin, Pytzamsky, Srednekichevsky, and Staromonyinsky, as well as 168 populated areas.

The village of Puzhe-Ucha, also known as Puzheuchinskoye or Ilyinskoye, was part of the Yelabuga district. The parish in the village of Puzhe-Ucha was opened by the order of the Kazan New Christians Office on September 4, 1749. It included the villages: Puzhe-Ucha, Burudzhikya, Bobyi Uchi, Novaya Dzhikya, Urdess Obdes, Bigrya, post Pytzams, post Bazhenov, post Shupshadi, Kosogo, Gozhnya, Kurekov, Malaya Bodya, Postar. Mozhga, Pudga, Bolshaya Bodya.

The first wooden cold church was built in 1750-1751 in honor of Saint Prophet Elijah. The Kazan office of new Christian affairs reported to the Holy Synod on January 24, 1752, about the completion of its construction. By the decree of the Vyatka spiritual consistory on April 19, 1787, a warm side church was added to the cold church in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord.

On November 7, 1821, the Vyatka spiritual consistory issued permission to build a stone temple to replace the old wooden church. The new temple was cold, in honor of Saint Prophet Elijah, with a warm room and two chapels: the right one in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord, and the left one in honor of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

On November 8, 1823, the right chapel of the warm church was consecrated in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord. On October 14, 1840, the main altar was consecrated in honor of Saint Prophet Elijah, and on November 11, 1844, the left altar of the warm church in honor of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

By the decree of the Vyatka spiritual consistory on April 30, 1825, the old wooden church was dismantled.

The Prophet Elijah Church was closed by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the UASSR on November 21, 1940, and the building was repurposed as a club.
