The exact date of construction of the first church on the banks of the Tutka River is unknown, but Archpriest Ivan Belyaev mentions an ancient wooden church with a bell tower that existed until the end of the 19th century near the stone Ilyinsk church. This is confirmed by lists of populated places in the Soligalich district from 1870-1872. In 1723, the church of the venerable Elijah on Tutka was served by priest Ivan Sergeev, sexton Artemy Sergeev, and deacon Ivan Ivanov.

Historical documents report that in 1826, peasant unrest occurred in the villages of Bogorodskoye, Tykovо, and Malyshkino, which belonged to the parish of the Ilyinsk church. By order of the Kostroma governor, Soligalich district chief Michurin arrived in the village of Tykovо with a military team, arresting the instigators: Zotea Timofeev, Stepanov, Fyodor Maximov, and Stepan Ivanov. Many peasants were punished with whips.

The stone Ilyinsk church with a bell tower and fence was built in 1833 with funds from landowner Anastasia Stepanovna Shcherbacheva. It was a single-domed church in the classical style with an altar, a small narthex, and a three-tiered bell tower, with side porticos. Inside the fence was the parish cemetery. The church had one altar in the name of the prophet Elijah.

After the construction was completed, Mrs. Shcherbacheva deposited 871 rubles 71 kopecks in credit institutions so that the interest from this amount would go towards the maintenance of the church.

In 1863, the church staff consisted of a priest and a deacon, receiving 72 and 24 rubles in salary, respectively. The church was classified as seventh class according to the staffing regulations.

The church owned land parcels totaling 820 desyatinas, most of which were occupied by forest. Plans and boundary books for the land were kept in the church. In 7 villages of the parish and 52 households lived 164 men and 200 women. The parish villages were located within a distance of up to 1 verst from the church. In one of the parish villages, there was a wooden chapel.

In 1870, the village belonged to the Chudtsov volost, where 9 people lived in four households, in 1897, 21 people, and in 1907, 22 people. By 1911, the Ilyinsk church was part of the 1st Soligalich deanery. The church staff consisted of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. The interest from the capital in bank securities amounted to 21,400 rubles, of which 77 rubles 25 kopecks were allocated for the benefit of the poor spiritual guardianship. The priest's income from services, baptisms, weddings, and funerals amounted to up to 87 rubles, the deacon's up to 58 rubles, and the psalmist's up to 30 rubles.

The church had arable and haymaking lands of 20 desyatinas, estate lands of 5 desyatinas, and forest lands of 786 desyatinas. Plans and boundary books for the land parcels were available. The parish of the Ilyinsk church included 5 villages, where 276 men and 323 women lived.
