The Pokrov Church in Kuliga is a parish church and includes two stone temples: a cold one and a warm one. The cold temple has three altars dedicated to the Mother of God of the Sign, the Mother of God of Kazan, and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The warm temple has two altars: the Protection of the Mother of God and the Prophet Elijah. The warm temple was built in 1784, and the cold one in 1823, both funded by parishioners. Next to the church are two wooden chapels: one near the church and the other in the village of Tetyukovo.

The church owns 61 desyatinas and 999 square fathoms of land. On the territory, there are four wooden houses for the priest, deacon, psalmist, and caretaker. The church capital amounts to 1085 rubles in tickets. The parish, covering 31 villages, has 1291 Orthodox men and 1430 women, as well as three schismatics of both genders. The parish operates three schools: a parish school in the village and two district schools in the villages of Yakovlev and Likhovod. The clergy consists of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist, with a clergy capital of 1097 rubles and 50 kopecks.
