The first mention of the church in the village of Aksakovo dates back to 1799. In a decree from the Kazan Spiritual Consistory addressed to the Orenburg Spiritual Administration, there is a request from landowner Timofey Aksakov from the Buzuluk district to allow the construction of a stone church in the name of the Sign of the Most Holy Theotokos on his estate. Documents indicate that the construction of the church took a significant amount of time. The initial decree for permission to build was lost in a fire at the office. While waiting for permission, Timofey Stepanovich prepared construction materials: he hired a contractor, signed a contract for the production of three hundred thousand bricks, prepared stone, and performed masonry work. In 1800, he submitted a new request, stating that the materials were ready, workers were hired, and the plan was received from the St. Petersburg Academy. He committed to maintaining the church and allocating land for the needs of the clergy. A repeated decree for construction was issued by the Holy Synod on November 8, 1809. By 1814, the church was nearly completed. Initially, one altar was planned, but in September 1814, Aksakov requested permission to arrange an altar in the name of Sergius of Radonezh. In December 1815, the Holy Synod granted permission for this. One of the last descriptions of the church, found in the State Archive of the Samara Region, dates back to September 1928. The church resembled a ship with a bell tower, had eighteen windows, and was covered with iron. It accommodated up to 1000 people, had three altars, and was surrounded by a stone fence. A hundred years after the poem celebrating these places was written, the temple was dismantled, and the necropolis was destroyed. In 2010, with the blessing of Metropolitan Valentin of Orenburg and Buzuluk, Priest Vitaly Prilibko was appointed as the rector in the village of Aksakovo. Since the parish did not have a building, it was decided to appeal to the Buguruslan RAIPO for a space for worship. On April 16, 2010, liturgical life resumed in the village, and from that day on, services have been regularly held in the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Sign'. A significant event for the village took place on April 24, 2011.
