According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Sorrowful Church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church contains altars: the main altar, the altar of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Joy of All Who Sorrow', and the right chapel of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The object dates back to 1829. However, according to the Administration of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, order No. 5-OD was revoked on October 20, 2014, by order No. 159.
