The construction of a new stone church, which replaced the destroyed one, began with the installation of a cross in December 2007. The church, dedicated to the icon 'Joy of All Who Sorrow', was built and consecrated as a Uniate church in memory of children who died in car accidents.

The funds for the construction of the church were provided by the management of LLC 'Promysel', which is engaged in the production of wooden boxes and other items with Khokhloma painting. The village of Semino, along with the neighboring village of Khokhloma, is a historical center of Khokhloma painting art.
