The building of the church was constructed in 1866 and reconstructed in 1887. The main altar is dedicated to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God 'Joy of All Who Sorrow'. The right chapel is consecrated in honor of St. Athanasius, Patriarch of Alexandria, and the left chapel is dedicated to All Saints. The church has a square shape in plan, a four-pitched roof, and a dome topped with an onion-shaped cupola on a faceted drum, which has not survived. The church stands on a high plinth.
