Church of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Joy of All Who Sorrow'

Фото 1
One verst from the monastery, in the forest where the spring originates, a wooden chapel was built in the 1830s. In the early 1880s, a stone church with a wooden roof was constructed in its place, dedicated to the Mother of God 'Joy of All Who Sorrow'. In 1884, it was consecrated by Archbishop Palladius of Kazan and Sviyazhsk. The church was small, measuring 15 by 9 arshins, with a four-tiered oak iconostasis. Every pilgrim visiting the desert comes to this holy place, reverently drinks water from the spring flowing from the mountain, and prayerfully remembers the labors of Archimandrite Vissarion, who established the monastery and this spring.
