In the village of Sokolovo, a wooden church in the Russian style was built in 2004. The funds for its construction were provided by a native of the village, the prefect of the Northwest District of Moscow, Y.M. Alpatov. The church was consecrated in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Bread Giver'.

The name of the village Sokolovo comes from the surname of its owners, the Sokolovs. It was first mentioned in the land books of 1745 as a village where serfs, single householders, and household servants lived. The first church here was erected in 1790 through the efforts of Meshcherskaya and consecrated in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. In 1883, the church burned down, but it was restored in 1895 with insurance funds and the support of parishioners. In the 1930s, the church was closed and converted into a rural 'House of Culture'.
