The temple of St. George the Victorious was built in 2002 in honor of the 850th anniversary of Pereslavl-Zalessky. Its construction was carried out by the Charitable Foundation "Chapel of St. George the Victorious" with the blessing of Archbishop Mikhail of Yaroslavl and Rostov, using funds raised from enterprises and patriots of Russia.

A memorial in memory of the defenders of the Fatherland was created in 2005 for the 60th anniversary of Victory, also with the blessing of Archbishop Kirill of Yaroslavl and Rostov.

In the temple, the names of 12,204 residents of Pereslavl, who died, succumbed to wounds, or went missing during the war against fascism from 1941 to 1945, as well as those who perished in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and while fulfilling their military duty to the Motherland, are inscribed on granite slabs.

With the prayers of the saints of the Pereslavl land, the righteous princes Alexander Nevsky and Andrei of Smolensk, the venerable Nikita the Stylite, Dmitry of Priluki, Gerasim of Boldino, Daniel and Cornelius of Pereslavl, and the prayers of the living residents of Pereslavl, O Lord, remember the souls of all the warriors who gave their lives for faith and the Fatherland.
