The St. George Church was built in 1814, and it was closed in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1999, it was returned to the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, and services resumed in 1992. That same year, Metropolitan Nikolai Kutepov of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas consecrated the church.
