The village of Krapivye is located 35 versts from Vladimir and 5 versts from Suzdal, by the Kamenka River. This village is mentioned in ancient documents, particularly in the "Royal Charter to the Suzdal Bishop Varlaam" of 1578, where it is noted as the estate of the Suzdal Archiepiscopal House.

The church, dedicated to St. George the Great Martyr, was built in 1797 through the efforts of the parishioners. It is made of stone and has a bell tower of the same material. The church has three altars: in honor of St. George, the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra. The church's documents have been well preserved: copies of the metric books have been kept since 1802, confession lists since 1829, and an inventory of church property compiled in 1842 is stored in the church.

The church owns lands: 1 dessiatina of homestead land, 6 dessiatinas of haymaking land, and 30 dessiatinas of arable land. There is a plan and boundary book for the land. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist. The annual income of the clergy amounts to up to 700 rubles in silver, obtained from the land and church services. The houses of the clergy are located on church land. The parish includes one village, which has 82 households and a population of 310 men and 350 women. There is a literacy school in the village, located in the psalmist's house.
