On July 27, 2004, an Orthodox chapel was opened at the UVD training center in the village of Vyatskoye, Nekrasovsky District, Yaroslavl Region, in memory of police officers who died in the line of duty. It is named after St. George the Victorious, the patron saint of Russian warriors. The construction was funded by the traffic police and the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yaroslavl Region, with most of the work carried out by the trainees of the training center. Less than a year passed from the laying of the first stone to the consecration of the chapel. The opening was blessed by Bishop Kirill of Rostov and Yaroslavl.
