The wooden warm church is located on the southeast outskirts of the village of Salmozero-Pogost-Kuznetsovsk and completes the perspective of the village street, standing out as the architectural dominant of the settlement. This structure belongs to three-part churches with varying widths and heights, having a horizontal longitudinal axis.
The church consists of a six-log frame on a low foundation. It includes a rectangular prayer room with a longitudinal axis, a square narthex, and a pentagonal altar. The main room is covered with a four-pitched hipped roof, which was previously adorned with five domes, now lost. The altar has a five-pitched hipped roof, while the narthex has a gable roof with a boarded front.
Previously, an octagonal bell tower was located above the narthex, of which only two crowns remain. A two-flight staircase led to the bell tower, separated by a log partition in the narthex.
The volumetric-planning composition of the church was complicated by the addition of a porch with a western entrance and a single-flight staircase under a separate gable roof, emphasizing the enfilade structure. The lighting of the church is provided by windows on the southern and northern sides.
The walls of the church are hewn "in rectangular paws," completely planed inside without rounding the corners and covered with horizontal planks "butt to butt" on forged nails. Outside, they are covered with horizontal boarded siding on factory nails over vertical battens made of sawn timber, nailed with forged nails, with a decorative base and a rectangular cornice. The floors in the church are double: a "black" one made of logs with the bark side up and earth filling, and a "clean" one made of planks "butt to butt" on round pegs, perpendicular to the entrance, on logs made of planks, in the main room with a pulpit.
The ceiling in the main room is also double: a "black" one made of planks "butt to butt," perpendicular to the entrance, and a "clean" one, a suspended ceiling made of profiled boards "staggered" on blocks, suspended on metal strips. The windows in the church are four-posted with triangular tops, with the junction of the posts "in quarter," and with the windowsill, "straight." The doors are three-posted, with the junction of the posts "in quarter," and with the threshold, "straight."
The decorative embellishment of the church includes window frames made of boarded siding with water-shedding cornices-tops and square and diamond-shaped dry biscuits on the lower plane of the cornice.
The church from the village of Salmozero-Pogost-Kuznetsovsk, built in the late 19th century, represents historical and architectural interest due to the preservation of its volumetric-planning solution, significance in the development, and in the system of cult buildings of the Salmozero cluster of villages.
