Kosulino is first mentioned in documents from 1721 as a multi-yard village on the Bobrovka River. A road to the Kamensky plant and Dolmatov Monastery passed through it. After 1735, Kosulino became a station on the Siberian tract. In 1709, the village was part of the parish of the village of Bagaryak. In 1866, the residents of Kosulino, together with the residents of Malaya Brusyan and Gusevo, created the Malobrusyan parish with a church in Malaya Brusyan. In 1877, the people of Kosulino built their own church, and the village became a selo with its own parish. The residents planned to build a new temple soon, but in 1883, a fire destroyed a significant part of the village, leaving the church unharmed. Due to the poverty of the parish, priest Konev began selling entrance tickets to the church, for which it was closed for a year in 1885.

Gradually, the prosperity of the residents improved, and new houses began to appear in the village. However, the church remained in poor condition. Thanks to the efforts of the former church elder N.T. Slepushin, a church-parish charity was established to raise funds for the construction of a new temple. Over six years, about 2,000 rubles were collected, construction materials worth 1,500 rubles were prepared, and church capital was accumulated to 4,000 rubles. However, 20,000 rubles were needed for construction, and this issue concerned all members of the charity. In 1903, priest Znamensky arrived in Kosulino, under whom the construction of the temple began to progress.

In 1905, the construction committee appealed to the diocesan authorities for permission to lay the foundation of a new stone church in honor of the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra. Permission was granted, and on July 27, 1905, the church was laid. By September 1909, the church was almost ready, and in the summer of 1910, work on the roof and floors was completed. On August 1, 1910, three gilded crosses were installed on the church. On September 1, 1910, after a prayer service in the old church, the iconostasis was transferred to the new one. The builders updated the iconostasis, and it shone in the new church. The altar was placed on a marble slab with an inscription about the laying and consecration of the church.

In the 1940s, the church was closed and used as a club, and later as a production workshop. By the early 1990s, it was abandoned and in a deplorable state. In 1995, the church was handed over to the Yekaterinburg diocese. The first rector was Father Georgy Skala, and a significant contribution to the restoration of the church was made by priest Sergey Slepushin. Currently, the rector is priest Alexander Dubasov.
