The church, located near the Archangel Michael Cathedral, was built probably between 1800 and 1825 and consecrated in honor of the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra, who are considered the patrons of domestic animals. It resembles the classic "warm" churches of Suzdal, and the western annex is designed as a smaller cell of "winter" Orthodox monasteries. The altar part of the Church of Flora and Lavra differs from the traditional semicircular shape and has a square form with three windows. The unique acoustics inside allow whispers to be heard in any corner. The temple suffered during the years of anti-religious persecution, but it has now been restored and is surrounded by a fence.
