The local stone church with one dome and a bell tower was founded in 1806. It includes two altars: one for Saint Apostle Philip and the other for the Holy Virgin of Bogolyubsk. The church owns 34 desyatinas of land, and its parish consists of two settlements: the village of Philip's Mountain and the village of Zarechye.

According to local legend, in the 12th century, on the territory of the present-day village of Philip's Mountain, there was a secluded dwelling of the hermit Philip, who later turned out to be Prince Yaroslav Svyatoslavich, son of Prince Svyatoslav Olgovich of Chernigov.

A church parish school operated at the church. During Soviet times, the building was used as a grain storage facility. Currently, it is abandoned.
