From 1827 to 1831, a church dedicated to the Blessed Princes of Yaroslavl, the Miracle Workers Theodore, David, and Constantine, was built on the grounds of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, next to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. The architect of this temple was P.Ya. Pankov. The western facade of the building is designed in the classical style: six elegant columns of the Ionic order support a traditional triangular pediment, and the two-flight staircase at the entrance splits, forming a cascade. At the top of the structure is a flat helmet-shaped dome with a small lantern. Although the building is executed in the spirit of provincial classicism, it stands out with its original eastern facade. The altar part of the church is decorated in the ancient Russian Orthodox tradition, represented by three semicircular apses, with the central one protruding the most. The altar windows are adorned with frames reminiscent of ancient Russian kokoshniks. Thus, in the architecture of the church, one can see a synthesis of various artistic traditions, characteristic of eclecticism.
