The stone church was built in 1814 by landowner Marfa Yakovlevna Krotkova. The church has three altars: the main one is dedicated to the Don Icon of the Mother of God, the right chapel to the Archangel Michael, and the left to All Saints. Nearby, there is a wooden chapel built at the site of the discovery of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God.
The nearest villages are Potma, located 2 versts away, and Malaya Kandarat, which is 5 versts away. It is 95 versts to Simbirsk, 17 versts to Karsun, and 2 versts to the Potminskoye volost administration.
