On May 11, 2010, a solemn transfer of the Don Icon of the Mother of God took place at the church in the village of Grachi, Enotaevsky District, Astrakhan Region. The event, which gathered many people, was attended by parishioners and residents of the ancient Cossack stanitsa, and was addressed by Pavel Anisimov, head of the governor's administration, fulfilling the order of Governor Alexander Zhiltin.

In April of this year, during a working visit to Astrakhan, the military ataman of the All-Great Don Army, Viktor Vodolatsky, presented the governor with the Don Icon of the Mother of God for the Astrakhan Region. This icon, revered by the Cossacks, was present among the Russian army on the day of the Battle of Kulikovo on September 8, 1380, giving them strength, and after the victory, it was handed over by the Don Cossacks to Prince Dmitry Donskoy. Today, the ancient icon is kept in the Tretyakov Gallery and is transferred to the Don Monastery in Moscow during important holidays. In honor of the victory on the Don, it received the name Don.

The church in Grachi, built in the early 18th century, was destroyed in the 1950s but has now been restored thanks to sponsorship and donations from citizens. Alexander Zhiltin decided to transfer the icon to this church specifically, as it bears her name and is located in the former Cossack stanitsa. Pavel Anisimov, on behalf of the governor, thanked everyone involved in the restoration of the church and expressed hope for the further revival of church life in the village. He wished the residents of Grachi health, success in their spiritual lives, and heavenly protection.
