The Russian village of Teplovka, also known as Pyrkino, was founded in the late 18th century by the river Tepliy Klyuch. A road from Saratov to Kuznetsk passed through it. By the mid-19th century, the village had 242 households, with 1192 men and 1197 women living there. Teplovka had three mills, a sheepfold, and an Orthodox church dedicated to St. Demetrius of Thessalonica, which is why the village was often called Dmitrievskoye. As part of the Saratov district of the Saratov province, Teplovka was the center of the eponymous volost with one rural community. The first primary school opened in 1872. In 1895, the local landowner Vorontsov-Dashkov built a new wooden church with a bell tower, replacing the old one.

The church staff included a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. By a royal decree in 1903, a fish hatchery was established in Teplovka for breeding trout for the royal table. During the revolutionary years of 1902 and 1906, Teplovka was one of the most restless villages in the province. According to the 1911 census, the village had a population of 3043.

After the Soviet period, religious life in Teplovka was revived. A new church in the name of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica was established in a small stone house by the main road, the third in the village's history. The antimins was consecrated on August 8, 2006. A dome has been installed on the building, and the area around the church has been improved.
