The warm church, built in 1774, was consecrated in honor of the great martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica. On February 10 of the same year, the head of the Church of the Epiphany in the village of Sima, Roman Andreev, along with parishioners, appealed to Bishop Gennady of Suzdal and Yuriev with a request: "In our village, there is a wooden church in honor of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, which has deteriorated over time. We have decided to dismantle it and build a stone church in its place with the same name, using the old one for firing bricks, of which we have enough." In March, permission for construction was granted, and by October 1774, the church was ready for consecration. In 1794, an altar in honor of All Saints was arranged in it. In September of the same year, priests Vasily Fedorov and Ivan Dmitriev asked Bishop Viktor for permission to arrange an altar for early liturgies in the right part of the Dmitrov Church.

On November 20, Archpriest Alexey Smirnov reported to the Suzdal Spiritual Consistory about the consecration of the altar. Another altar, consecrated in honor of the holy martyr Zinaida, was arranged in 1845 by chamber junker Count Konstantin Karlovich Tol in memory of his prematurely deceased wife, Zinaida Alexandrovna, born Golitsyna. They married in 1845, but a month after the wedding, Zinaida passed away. In her memory, Prince Alexander Borisovich Golitsyn established the "Zinaida Hospital" in Sima. Count Tol donated a richly decorated Gospel, a cross, and liturgical vessels to the altar of the holy martyr Zinaida.

The modern appearance of the church was acquired after reconstruction in 1891. The documents of the Vladimir Spiritual Consistory regarding the reconstruction of the winter church in the village of Sima contain a protocol dated July 30, 1891, discussing the reconstruction project. It was decided to replace the wooden superstructure with a brick one, if the condition of the foundation and walls allowed, and the work should be carried out under the supervision of a qualified technician. The project was approved, and the reconstruction was permitted with these remarks in mind.

During the Soviet era, the church was closed and looted, and its head was destroyed.
