Filimonovo, a village inhabited by state peasants, is located by the Krapivnitsa River and wells, 14 versts from Rostov. The village has 30 households, 102 souls according to the revision, and 101 allotments. The residents engage in growing chicory and green peas, as well as producing potato flour. Until 1764, Filimonovo belonged to the Rostov Archiepiscopal House.

The village has two single-domed stone churches. The first was built in 1793 with funds from the parishioners and consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas. The second church, with an altar dedicated to St. Demetrius the Great Martyr of Thessalonica, was erected in 1804 by a landowner from the village of Inery. The bell tower was built simultaneously with the first church. A stone monument confirming the existence of the former wooden church is placed at its site. There are no miraculous or particularly venerated icons in the churches. The documents related to their construction are not of particular interest, as they are all dated no earlier than 1790.

The churches were closed in the 1930s, later used as a club, and are now abandoned.
