The rural stone church with five domes and a bell tower, dedicated to St. Demetrius of Thessalonica, was built in 1763.

According to local legend, in 1740 a wealthy landowner passed through the village and noticed a boy playing. The boy caught his fancy, and with the parents' permission, he took him away to raise him. Since the landowner was unmarried, after his death all his property went to the foster child. This foster child sold all the property, became a monk, and built a stone church in his homeland in memory of himself. The church still exists today, except for the former bell tower, which was dismantled due to its dilapidation and replaced with a new one in 1864. Before the stone church, there was a wooden church, but when it was destroyed is unknown.

In the village church, icons are especially venerated, such as the icon of the Bogolyubskaya Mother of God, known for its miracles and adorned with a silver robe, as well as the icon of St. Martyr Demetrius and other saints. The church houses a wooden cross, covered with copper and gilded, containing relics of St. Demetrius the Great Martyr, St. Basil of Ancyra, St. Pimen the Great, St. John the Merciful, and other saints.

According to legend, the aforementioned icon and cross were donated by the church's builder, a monk. There are no other ancient items, old printed books, or manuscripts in this church.

The church has 38 desyatins of land, and the parish includes only one village.

According to the manuscript of Artynov, the village of Dmitrianskoye got its name because this area once belonged to Prince Dmitry Danilovich Lugovsky, known by the nickname "Hunting."
