The church in honor of the great martyr St. Demetrius of Thessalonica in the village of Andreevka was built in 1839 with funds from local residents. The church building and bell tower were wooden, and the church remained cold. By 1900, it had fallen into disrepair, and in 1904, at the request of the parishioners and with their funds, a new warm wooden church was built on a stone foundation, which could accommodate up to 1500 worshippers. Houses for the clergy were also built with parishioners' funds in 1871 and rebuilt in 1904.

In 1870, a one-class mixed church school was opened, which educated more than a hundred students.

By the decision of the executive committee of the Kuibyshev Council of People's Deputies on May 7, 1939, the church in the village of Andreevka was closed, and its building was repurposed into an incomplete secondary school. Later, it remained abandoned for a long time and was destroyed in the 1960s.

In 2008, the Orthodox community was revived in Andreevka. On July 12, 2009, a prayer service and the blessing of the site for the construction of a new church took place. In the autumn of the same year, with donations, the foundation was laid, and the walls of a new two-story wooden church were erected.

On July 5, 2012, the domes with crosses were blessed and installed. The construction of the church is funded by donations, a significant portion of which came from the parishioners of the Samara church of St. Tatiana at Samara State Technical University.
