On June 27, 2015, in Diveevo, on the day of the celebration of the Assembly of Diveevo Saints, a cross was consecrated at the site where a new parish church is planned to be built. The church will be dedicated to the Holy Royal Martyrs and will be located at the intersection of Zarechnaya and Polevaya streets.
The consecration of the cross and the prayer service for the beginning of this good deed were conducted by the archpriest Alexander Dolbunov, the dean of the Sarov district, along with priest Daniil Gatyn. Booklets were distributed to attendees about the miracle when an icon of the Royal Family appeared on a glass in the Krasnodar church of the Nativity of Christ in 2002. A large mosaic icon of Tsar Nicholas II, specially made for Diveevo in Odessa, was brought to the consecration ceremony.
The faithful recalled that earlier, immediately after the canonization of the royal family, priest Vladimir Shikin first carried the icon of Nicholas II in a procession to the larch tree planted in honor of the birthday of the heir Tsarevich Alexei near the Holy Ditch.
Initially, the initiative group for the church's construction requested permission to build at least a chapel, attached to the Elizabethan church of Diveevo. However, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas blessed the construction of a full-fledged church. It is planned that the church will be built this year and will be a copy of the church in Darmstadt, the homeland of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and her sister, the Holy Martyr Elizabeth.
