The Epiphany Church was built in 1753 thanks to the efforts of Colonel Afanasy Ivanovich Alyabyev and Mrs. Evdokia Ivanovna Kachikova. This stone building, with a bell tower and fence, is notable for its durability. The church has three altars: the main one dedicated to the Epiphany of the Lord, and two in the warm chapels, in honor of the Mother of God of Surdega and Saint Nicholas of Myra. The icon of the Great Martyr Paraskeva is especially venerated. Next to the church are two chapels: one stone and the other wooden in the village of Lukinskaya.

The church owns 109 desyatinas and 1571 square fathoms of land. There are three wooden houses: for the priest, deacon, and psalmist. The church's financial resources amount to: 2300 rubles in bonds in the inviolable capital, 2000 rubles in reserve capital, and 769 rubles in a savings book, totaling 5069 rubles. The parish has 1017 men and 1151 women. The village is located on flat land by the Vzderinozhka River, 13 versts from Romanov-Borisoglebsk and 48 versts from Yaroslavl.

The village has two primary schools: a church-parish school in the village of Nikolskoye on Edoma and a zemstvo school in the village of Tarasovo. There is also a church-parish charity, and since 1874, the zemstvo almshouse of Sharovskoye has been operating in the village of Nikolskoye, founded with the funds of merchant Vasily Alexandrovich Sharov, the interest from his capital of 8000 rubles goes towards its maintenance. The clergy staff includes a priest, deacon, and psalmist, and the parish capital amounts to 3910 rubles in bonds.
