The local stone church with five domes and a bell tower was built in 1840 and has three altars: the Epiphany of the Lord, Saint Prophet Elijah, and Saint Nicholas. Before this, there was a large wooden church with two domes and a separate octagonal bell tower on this site. It was erected in 1776 by Princess A. I. Burakina, but on the night of September 14 to 15, 1837, it burned down along with the village. Before the construction of this church, there were two other wooden churches in Gvozdevo: one parish and the other hunting, each with its own clergy.

The church in the village of Gvozdevo has neither miraculous nor ancient icons, nor old utensils, vestments, and there are no ancient manuscripts or books. In the village cemetery, there is a tombstone of the church elder F. I. Diomidov, who passed away on July 24, 1854, at the age of 85. Diomidov did much to beautify his church: in 1834, he surrounded it with a stone fence and acquired a large bell.

The parish holds 14 processions. The church in the village of Gvozdevo is assigned 34 acres of land, and the parish includes 5 settlements.
