Church of the Epiphany of the Lord in Belozersk

Фото 1
The Church of the Epiphany of the Lord in Belozersk is a winter temple within an active church complex, located at the intersection of Lenin and K. Marx streets. Unlike the Assumption Cathedral, which serves as a summer temple, the Epiphany Church is smaller, making it easier to heat during the cold season.

It is believed that this small and elegant church, built in the baroque style with elements of "uzorochye," was constructed in 1784. The main altar is consecrated in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord, while the northern chapel is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. The church consists of two floors: the upper temple is cold and dedicated to Dmitry, the Metropolitan of Rostov. The entrance to the upper floor is unusual, passing through the arch of the refectory and the bell tower.

The first restoration work in the Epiphany Church began in the early 1990s when a large crack in the bell was repaired. After identifying the true causes of new cracks, repair work is planned in the near future to eliminate all factors contributing to the destruction of the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord in Belozersk.
