In 1856, a stone church was built with the funds of parishioners and the support of landowner Naryshkin E.D. on the site of an old wooden one. The church has three altars: the main one is dedicated to the Epiphany of the Lord, and the side altars are dedicated to Saint George the Martyr and Saints Flora and Lavra. Church holidays are celebrated in Shamorga on November 3, in Nikolaevka on September 25, in Kormilitsa on August 6, and in Kupla on August 18. There is also a chapel in the Naryshkin estate.

The parish has 331 households, 1293 men, and 1415 women, all Great Russians engaged in sheepskin processing and trade. They own one and a half desyatinas of land per soul. Among them, there are 40 households of Old Believers of the Pomorian sect, with 179 men and 203 women living there. In 1910, according to the law of October 17, 1906, the Shamorga Pomorian-Non-Priest Old Believer community was founded, consisting of 71 people.

The parish includes three villages: Kupla, Kormilitsa, and Nikolaevka, as well as a steam sawmill owned by Naryshkin, the Tsna River, and extensive forest. Shamorga has a church-parish one-class school with four departments, and in Kupla, there is a second-class men's school. There is also church-parish charity and a credit partnership, and a record of church property and metric books has been kept since 1800. The library contains 100 volumes.

The church staff includes a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. The clergy have 6 desyatinas of homestead land and 45 desyatinas of unusable field land on two plots located 3 and 10 versts from the church. The land brings an annual income of 250 rubles, while the brotherhood's income is 500-700 rubles. The priest receives a state salary of 300 rubles, the deacon 150 rubles, and the psalmist 100 rubles. The parish capital amounts to 225 rubles, and the clergy have their own houses.

After the church was closed in 1939, its building was converted into a grain warehouse. The church was desecrated, the iconostasis was destroyed, and the stone floor tiles were removed. Restoration of the church began as part of the monastery in 2004. In October 2006, Metropolitan Pavel of Ryazan and Mikhailov consecrated the Epiphany altar of the church. By 2015, the side altar in honor of Saint George the Victorious was restored.

On August 31, 2019, during the 11th week after Pentecost and on the day of remembrance of Saints Flora and Lavra, Bishop Theodorite consecrated the left altar in honor of Saint George the Victorious in the Epiphany Church of the Pokrovsky Women's Monastery in Shamorga, Shatsky District.
