The village of Khvatachevo is located 13 versts from the district town of Kovrov and 65 versts from Vladimir. Until 1867, it was a village and was part of the parish of the village of Bolshie Vsegodich. In that year, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, a church was built in Khvatachevo, and an independent parish was formed. The church is made of stone, with a bell tower and fence of the same material. Inside, there are three altars arranged in a line, separated by wooden walls plastered on both sides. The main altar was consecrated on November 19, 1867, in honor of the Bogolyubskaya Icon of the Mother of God, the southern altar on June 20, 1868, in the name of the holy prophet Elijah, and the northern altar on September 30, 1868, in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Since its construction, no changes have been made to the church.

The church is not rich in utensils and vestments, but it is sufficiently provided with holy icons and liturgical books. It owns a wooden chapel located in the center of the village. All church documents, including copies of metric books and confession lists since 1868, are kept in order. There is also an inventory of church property.

According to the staff, there is a priest and a psalmist who receive up to 350 rubles a year. The clergy members have their own houses built on church land. The parish includes the village itself and six villages located no more than 2 versts from the church. The parish counts 190 households, 584 men, and 619 women.
