The Annunciation Church in the village of Blagoveshchensky Pogost represents a rare type of cross-shaped church, which became a prototype for the Ascension Church in Kolomenskoye. It dates back to Moscow architecture of the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Western European masters likely participated in its construction. This architectural monument is stylistically close to the first structures of Alexandrovskaya Sloboda during the reign of Vasily III. The unique design of the ceiling inside the main volume, with two pillars in the square, makes a special impression with its unusualness and sculptural forms.
