The Annunciation Church is one of the oldest Orthodox churches in Ryazan. It is located at the intersection of Zatinnaya and Svobody streets. The original wooden structure of the church was built no later than the early 17th century and is mentioned in the census books of Mina Lykov. In the second half of the same century, a new stone church was erected on the site of the old wooden one. In 1744, with the blessing of Bishop Alexy, a chapel in honor of John the Warrior was added to the church. In the early 19th century, the church's elder was the Ryazan philanthropist Gavriil Vasilyevich Ryumin. The church functioned until the mid-1930s. In the last years before its closure, the holy martyr Metropolitan Juvenaly often served here. However, in 1935, the building was handed over to the Renovationists, and on November 15 of the same year, the church was closed by the decision of the Ryazan District Executive Committee.

Initially, the building housed the mechanized workshops of the artel 'Smena', and in 1958, there were discussions about its demolition, as it allegedly did not represent architectural value. Fortunately, these plans were not realized, although the domes and bell tower were demolished. Later, the building housed a film repair workshop. The main structure is a square, adorned on the sides with kokoshniks, and its vault is crowned with five small domes. The church is connected to the refectory and the tent-shaped bell tower. In the 1990s, the church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. Now the exterior of the church has been fully restored, and work continues on the interior painting of the building.
