The church was built in 1802 with funds from Major Ivan Mikhailovich Bakaev and parishioners. The building was made of stone and had four altars: in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Tikhon, Bishop of Amathus, the Miracle Worker, the Beheading of the Head of the Prophet John the Baptist, and Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Miracle Worker. It has not survived to this day.
