Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nikolaevka

Фото 1
The village of Nikolaevka is located in the Pervomaisky District and was founded by Alexander Nikolayevich Karamzin, who named it in honor of his father, the historian Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin. Nearby, there used to be the village of Yekaterinovka, named after E.A. Karamzina's mother, but it no longer exists. The village is home to a monument of urban planning and architecture, the Annunciation Church. The church has a main, cold altar dedicated to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as two chapels: the right one in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and the left one in honor of Saint Alexander Nevsky. According to the 'Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese' from 1904, the church dates back to 1865, although 1869 is also mentioned. The site is under state protection under number 471.
