Church of the Annunciation in Dolmatovo

Фото 1
The church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos is mentioned in the patriarchal tax books from 1628 in the village of Dolmatovo. By 1708, a new wooden church was built here, and the old one was handed over to the parishioners in the village of Bunakovo, where it burned down the same year. In 1783, engineer-colonel Daniil Yakovlev Khadychenkov began the construction of a stone church, which was consecrated in 1786. The church had two altars: in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. Due to the cramped conditions of the warm Annunciation chapel, it was expanded in 1820 and an altar in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was added. The stone bell tower of the church was built in 1781. The parish included the village of Dolmatovo and the villages: Kobylyno, Slednevo, Romanovo, Sokolovo, Berezovka, as well as the hamlets of Petrovo and Monastirevo. During the Soviet era, the church was completely destroyed.
