Blagoveshchenskoye, a village located in the Voskresensky district. According to the "Nizhny Novgorod Toponymic Dictionary", this area has been known since 1629, when there was a post on the road to the monastery lands. Until 1848, the village had a different name, the settlement of Perekhvatov.

In accordance with the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Blagoveshchensk church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to the 19th century. However, order 5-OD lost its force on October 20, 2014, due to the issuance of order No. 159.

According to data provided by Dina Korotaeva, referencing the book "Voskresensky District. Years and Fates", the church in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the settlement of Perekhvatov in 1628, which marked the beginning of the village of Blagoveshchenskoye. In 1705, the temple burned down, but it was restored in 1707, adding an altar in honor of the prophet Elijah. In the 19th century, church construction took place twice. In 1858, a single-altar church in honor of Nicholas the Wonderworker was erected, which was expanded in 1898. It is likely that the Blagoveshchensk church was rebuilt due to its dilapidation, but already without the altar in honor of the prophet Elijah. The consecration of the updated church took place in 1880. Both churches were surrounded by a wooden fence, and a church-parish school operated at the church. The Church of the Annunciation existed until the early 1950s and was dismantled due to the construction of a school on its territory. The Nicholas church remained inactive until 1991, when it collapsed due to dilapidation. The priest of the church, Archpriest Nikandr Ilyinsky, was subjected to repression.

Currently, a chapel in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been built on the foundation of the Nicholas church.
