Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Blagoveshchenskaya Gora

Фото 1
The church in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya Gora was built along with the bell tower in 1827. In 1865, a stone fence with iron grilles and a roof was constructed around the church and cemetery. The church has altars for the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael. Before the stone church, there were two wooden churches in succession, but no information about their construction time has survived.

There are no miraculous or particularly venerated icons in the church. The church icon of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is very ancient, was inherited from the old wooden churches; its antiquity is confirmed by a preserved letter. Five processions are held in the parish.

Among the particularly notable ancient utensils and vestments are the priestly robes made of thick linen fabric and wooden carved wedding crowns, which appear to be very old.

The church land totals 36 desyatinas. The parish includes two villages: Blagoveshchenskaya Gora and Novoselki.

The brick church with a warm Michael-Archangel chapel, built between 1818 and 1827, was dismantled in 1980. It was a building of the type octagon on a square with a small refectory and a bell tower under a spire. In 1998, a new small chapel was erected, which was later converted into a church. This is a wooden structure made of timber with simple architecture and a bell tower.
