Church of Archangel Michael in Suzdal

Фото 1
The Church of Archangel Michael, a summer church with a bell tower, is located in the Mikhali area of the city of Suzdal and was built in 1769. On February 12, 1868, the retired priest Vasily Nadezhdin from the village of Mikhailovaya side passed away here.

After restoration, the temple impresses with its magnificence: the golden domes shine in the sun, and the interior decoration is striking. It is the tallest church in this part of Suzdal. The building stands out with its red and white colors and rich decor: dark red walls are adorned with white patterned window frames. A decorative band runs above the second tier of windows, and a cornice is located under the roof. The cross on the church has a complex pattern. On the western side, a refectory is attached to the temple, connecting it with the tall bell tower in the classical style. The bell tower is topped with a slender sharp spire resting on a spherical dome. Currently, the temple houses an educational school where students receive spiritual religious education in addition to state education.

On December 20, 2000, the Mikhailo-Archangel parish was registered, belonging to the Vladimir Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church in the city of Suzdal.
