The temple of St. Anthony the Great is an active Orthodox church located on the northern outskirts of Dzerzhinsk, near the intersection of the Zarevskaya bypass road and Chkalov Avenue. It is part of the Resurrection deanery of the Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas diocese.

In 2006, a plot of land was allocated for the construction of the church, and on November 2 of the same year, Archbishop Georgy consecrated the cross at the future construction site. Construction began in June 2007, with the support of Valery Artamonov, the general director of the company 'Tosol-Sintez'. In April 2009, during an archpastoral visit, the altar was laid and the altar table was consecrated.

The first Easter service in the church took place on April 4, 2010, conducted by the parish priest, Father Ilya Shitov. About 50 parishioners attended the first Easter vigil, which was held among construction scaffolding.

On August 24, Archbishop Georgy consecrated the crosses, and on September 22, 2010, he consecrated the church itself. By this time, a four-tiered iconostasis, made in the academic style by masters of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese, had been completed.

On November 14, 2010, the second Sunday school in the city opened at the church. The first was opened in 1995 at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.
