Two hundred meters from the tragic death of Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Seryogin stands the Holy Andrew Church, built in 1825. In 1968, when the church was still partially destroyed, it served as a landmark in the search for the crash site of the plane. The restoration of the church is being carried out with the active participation of cosmonauts, led by Alexei Leonov, a two-time Hero of the Soviet Union and the first person to walk in space. Some of the frescoes inside the church were created based on Leonov's sketches, so under the dome, alongside images of Christ and Andrew the First-Called, one can see a parade of planets and a spacecraft, while the walls depict the patron saints of the first cosmonaut team. The restored bell tower features a bell set of nine bells, corresponding to the number of cosmonauts who perished in the history of space flights, with each bell bearing the name of one of them. Among them are the bells 'Yuri Gagarin', 'Vladimir Komarov', and others, symbolizing the souls of heroes who left us too soon. This unique Orthodox-cosmic church in the village of Novosyelovo combines space as a scientific breakthrough and a challenge posed by humanity to the unexplored Universe, and space as part of the divine creation.
