The Alexander Nevsky Church is located by the prison castle and was built in 1885 with funds from a merchant from Vyazniki, Nikita Nikitin. The church has one altar dedicated to the holy righteous grand prince Alexander Nevsky. It is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist. The priest receives a monthly salary of 15 rubles from the Prison Committee, while the psalmist receives 10 rubles. Additionally, from conducting services and sacramental rites, up to 100 rubles are received annually. The church does not have a parish.
